通告描述：

This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 209 /2026 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8205-1 "General requirements for traditional cigarette alternatives – Part 1: Electronic Cigarettes – e- Liquid" (12 pages, in Arabic) (partial amendment in 1 page, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the draft of this Standard was formerly notified in G/SPS/N/EGY/180, dated 16 April 2026.

Worth mentioning is that this standard has been partially amended as follows:

Item No.3/6 to be: (The volume of liquid in the cartridge (clause 2/4) that contains the e-liquid and is intended for single use and to be fitted on its own heating device shall not exceed 20 ml).
Item No.3/7 to be: (The capacity of the e-liquid container integrated within the same product shall not exceed 20 ml).

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 21 September 2026.

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
