Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda would like to inform WTO Members that the East African Standard; EAS 1229: 2026, Leather — Finished leather for shoe uppers ― Specification (First edition), notified in; G/TBT/N/BDI/560, G/TBT/N/KEN/1752, G/TBT/N/RWA/1127, G/TBT/N/TZA/1268 and G/TBT/N/UGA/2101 was adopted and published by the East African Community Council of Ministers as EAS 1229: 2026, Leather — Finished leather for shoe uppers ― Specification (First edition) on 19th January 2026 via East African Community Gazette, Legal Notice No. EAC/33/2026 dated 26th January, 2026
