This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 246 /2025 (5 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8754 for "Child use and care articles – carry cots and stands for domestic use – safety requirements and test methods"(40 page(s), in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 502 /2023 (4 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/359/Add.1 dated 30 January 2024, mandated among others the earlier version of this standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/359 dated 19 June 2023 and G/TBT/N/EGY/359/Add.2 dated 9 October 2024.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with EN 1466/2023.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 11 August 2025.

Proposed date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
