This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 246 /2025 (5 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 3368 for "Road Vehicles - Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) - Content and Structure" (14 page(s), in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 250/2022 (1 page, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/325 dated 28 June 2022 and the Ministerial Decree No.430/2024 (1 page, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/325/Add.1 dated 25 September 2024 mandated among others the earlier versions of this Egyptian Standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with ISO 3779:2009.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 11 August 2025

Proposed date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette
