This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 246 /2025 (5 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian StandardES 4900 "Household synthetic detergents powder"(14 pages, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 478/2018 (3 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/200 dated 4 September 2018 mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/200/Add.1 dated 27 March 2025.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with the following:

Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 of the European parliament and of the council on detergents.
Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 - classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).
JIS K 3371/2019.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 11 August 2025.

Proposed date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
