This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.445/2024 (2 page, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a twelve –month transitional period to abide by Egyptian Standard 8891-3/2024for " Energy performance of lifts, escalators and moving walks — Part 3: Energy calculation and classification for escalators and moving walks"; (26 page(s), in Arabic).

It should be noted the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/468 dated 2 May 2024.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with ISO 25745-3:2015 (confirmed 2020).

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption:7 September 2024.

Date of entry into force: 3 October 2024.
