This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.142/2024 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a twelve-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 3794 for " energy efficiency of household and similar electrical appliances - measurement and calculation methods for energy consumption of refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers and freezers" (87 pages, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 612/2007 (16 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/178 dated 11 January 2018 and the Ministerial Decree No. 477/2018 (3 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/178/Add.1 dated 4 September 2018 mandated among others the earlier versions of this Standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/178/Add.2 dated 12 March 2024.

Worth mentioning is that standard has been formulated according to National Studies.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
