The Ministerial Decree No. 498/2023 gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 8739 which specifies the essential requirements and descriptive criteria of evaporated milks for the purpose of direct consumption or other manufacturing operations.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with the Codex Standard CXS 281 – 1971 , Amendment 2018.
