This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 503/2023 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 1651 for "Chilled poultry and rabbits" (partial amendment No. 1 in 1 page, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No.1096/2019 (1 page, in Arabic) that was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/240 dated 8 January 2020, mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard has been formulated according to National Studies.

It is worth noting that this standard has been partially modified as following:

Amendment the note under clause (2) “Definition” It is contained “inedible parts are considered feathers, blood, and offal. Otherwise, they are considered edible parts”.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian Standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
