This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.499/2023 (4 pages, in Arabic) that gives producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1119 "Notebooks & exercise books " (16 page(s), in Arabic). Regarding the clause No. 9 only, the Ministerial Decree allows a tolerance of +5 mm for both length and width for (notebooks of the subject of the Lesson) for a period of two years from the day following the date of publication in the Egyptian Gazette starting from 5 January 2024.

It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/341 dated 6 February 2023.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with JIS S 5504 /2010.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
