This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 499 /2023 (4 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 7279 for " Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Particular requirements for stationary circulation pumps for heating and service water installations “ (27 page(s), in English)

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 241/2016 (3 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/157 dated 15 August 2016,mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard adopts the technical content of IEC 60335-2-51/2019.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 18 December 2023.

Date of entry into force: 5 January 2024
