This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.499/2023 (4 pages, in Arabic) that gives producers and importers six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 2623-3 for " Rotating electrical machines – part 3: Efficiency classes of line operated AC motors (IE code)” (29 pages, in Arabic).

This standard cancels and supersedes its last edition issued ES 2623-3/2017.

It should be noted that The Ministerial Decree No. 463/2020 (3 pages, in Arabic) amended by Ministerial Decree No. 474/2020 (2 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/280 dated 11 January 2021, mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with IEC 60034-30-2/2016.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
