This Kenyan Standard specifies minimum requirements for the design of structural members cold- formed to shape from steel sheet, strip, plate or bar not more than 8 mm in thickness and used for load-carrying purposes in buildings. Sections may be either open or closed and should be made up of flat elements bounded either by free edges or by bends with included angles not exceeding 135 degrees and internal radii not exceeding 5t where t is the material thickness.
