This draft Uganda Standard specifies tyre dimensions, designation and marking requirements and load ratings. It also gives laboratory test equipments for strength for tyres primarily intended for agricultural implements. All tyres however shall be subjected to visual inspection to ensure good workmanship. It includes the physical dimensions test for assessing the capability of the tyre, with respect to size and specified rims. The test methods presented in this Standard applies to all agricultural implement tyres. The standard also specifies sampling methods, certification and disposal of nonconforming tyres.The Standard applies to all pneumatic agricultural tyres with both "tube type and tubeless" of radial and bias constructions. It does not apply to any tyre that has been reconditioned or altered so as to render it impossible for use or repaired for use as part of motor vehicle equipment.For the purpose of this Standard, agricultural tyre is considered to be a tyre for commercial and heavy duty vehicles with carrying capacity of over 5 tons, ply rating from 10 and above, rim size from 16" - 40" and Load Index from 81 - 190.
