This second edition of this standard has considered revision of the scope to exclude scouring pads for specialized uses e.g. non-scratch scouring pads for delicate surfaces and scouring pads for heavy duty use. Substance has been revised to 500g/m2 minimum for all grades, colour fastness to 4-5, breaking load to 80 minimum. An alternative method for determining abrasive strength was introduced, the Schiefer Test. It specifies requirements and test methods for scouring pads for household cleaning.
