This Draft Tanzania Standard covers the specification, testing methods and sampling of lubricating greases suitable for the periodic re-lubrication of chassis system and wheel bearing of passenger cars, trucks, light duty and heavy duty vehicles. It defines the requirements used to describe the properties and performance characteristics of chassis greases, and wheel bearing greases for full service application.

It also describes two types of automotive greases designated as 'L' prefix for chassis greases intended for lubrication of ball joint steering pivots, universal joints and other chassis components as designated by the equipment manufacturer. Those designated with a 'G' prefix are intended for lubrication of wheel bearings.
