Products covered: Domestic electrical appliances in general (ICS 97.030) This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 477/2018 (3 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 3794 "Energy Efficiency of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Measurement And Calculation Methods For Energy Consumption Of Refrigerators, Refrigerator-Freezers And Freezers" (17 pages, in Arabic) It should be noted that Ministerial Decrees No. 612/2007 which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/178 dated 11 January 2018, mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard. Worth mentioning is that this standard is complies with National Studies. Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
