Products covered: Glass in building (ICS 81.040.20) This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 477/2018 (3 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the following Egyptian standards: ES 1948-5 "Glass in building — Laminated glass and laminated safety glass — Part 5: Dimensions and edge finishing" (12 pages, in Arabic), ES 1948-6 " Glass in building - Laminated glass and laminated safety glass part 6: Appearance" (11 pages, in Arabic). It should be noted that Ministerial Decrees No. 423/2005 (25 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/3 dated 14 December 2005, mandated among others the earlier version of the Egyptian Standard ES 1948. Worth mentioning is that these standards are identical with: - ISO 12543-5:2011. - ISO 12543-6:2011. Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
