Products covered: Domestic electrical appliances in general (ICS 97.030) This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 477/2018 (3 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the following Egyptian standards: ES 6000-1 "Household refrigerating appliances – Characteristics and test methods – Part 1: General requirements" (133 pages, in English). ES 6000-2 "Household refrigerating appliances – Characteristics and test methods – Part 2: Performance requirements" (90 pages, in English). ES 6000-3 "household refrigerating appliances – characteristics and test methods–Part 3: Energy consumption and volume" (108 pages, in Arabic) It should be noted that Ministerial Decree No. 241/2016 (3 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/157 dated 15 August 2016, mandated among others the earlier versions of these Egyptian Standards. Worth mentioning is that these standards are identical with: IEC 62552-1/2007. IEC 62552-2/2015. IEC 62552-3/2015. Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette. Proposed date of adoption: 22/5/2018. Proposed date of entry into force: 24/6/2018.
