Products covered: Butter (ICS 67.100.20) This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 100/2019 (2 pages, in Arabic), which: Cancels the Egyptian Standard ES 154-6 "milk and milk products part: 6 local- natural buffalo butter" (10 pages, in Arabic). Gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 154-5 "Milk and Dairy Products Part 5: Natural Butter" (10 Pages, In Arabic). It should be noted that Ministerial Decree No. 515/2005 (10 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2 dated 14 December 2005, mandated among others the earlier versions of these standards. Furthermore the draft of the Egyptian standard ES 154-5 was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2/Add.7 dated 9 January 2019. Worth mentioning is that the Egyptian Standard ES 154-5 is technically identical with Codex Standard NO 279-1971 Codex Standard for butter. Formerly codex standard A-1-1971. Adopted in 1971. Revised in 1999. Amended in 2003, 2006, 2010, 2018. Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
