This Draft Uganda Standard specifies treatment requirements for preservative-treated timber and timber products that have a predicted service life at various levels of preservative treatment which are considered to be acceptable for a range of hazard conditions.

This Draft Standard is not applicable to treatment with fire retardants or to treatments aimed at improving the physical properties of timber and timber products, nor does it cover the inherent quality of timber or timber products, or properties other than in respect of preservative treatment.
