The notified Law establishes the rules governing the prevention of fraud and falsification in the sale of goods or services, and seeks to promote the quality control of products and services, particularly food and other foodstuffs. To this end, the notified text provides for: offences and penalties; anti-fraud officers; seizure and removal; and administrative and judicial measures. It repeals, in particular, Law No. 63301 of 26 June 1963 on the prevention of fraud in the sale of goods, and of falsifications of foodstuffs and agricultural products.
