Products covered: toys (ICS 97.200.50) This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 171/2020 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 3123-3 for "Safety of toys - Part 3: Migration of certain elements" (56 pages, in Arabic). It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No.758/2008 (3 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/16/Add.1 dated 3 March 2015, mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard, and its draft was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/16/Add.2 dated 13 May 2019. Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with EN 71-3:2013+A3:2018. Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
