Products covered: Tea (ICS:67.140.10) This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 173/2020 (1 page, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 559-1 for "Tea and Methods of Analysis and Testing, Part 1: Tea" (9 pages, in Arabic). It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 515/2005 (10 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2 dated 14 December 2005 mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard, and its draft was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2/Add.9 dated 17 October 2019. Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with modification with the following: - ISO 3720: 2011 Black tea – Definition and basic requirements; - ISO 11287:2011 Green tea -- Definition and basic requirements; - ISO/TR 12591:2013 White tea — Definition. Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
