This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 609 /2020 (3 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 5056-2 for " Refrigerating systems and heat pumps — Safety and environmental requirements — Part 2: Design, construction, testing, marking and documentation" (72 page(s), in Arabic)"

It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/272 dated 5 October 2020.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with ISO 5149-2:2014

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 4 December 2020.

Proposed date of entry into force: 15 January 2021.
