This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 223 /2021 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 262-2" Steel for the reinforcement of concrete Part 2: Ribbed bars “(34 pages, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 535/2015 (2 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/98 dated 24 September 2015 mandated among others the earlier version of this Egyptian standard and its draft was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/98/Add.1 dated15 March 2021.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with ISO 6935-2 / 2019.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 20 May 2021.

Proposed date of entry into force: 14 June 2021
