This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 221/2021 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8284-2 "Outdoor furniture - seating and tables for camping, domestic and contract use -- part 2: mechanical safety requirements and test methods for seating" (18 page(s), in Arabic)

It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/254 dated 5 March 2020.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with EN 581-2:2015/AC:2016.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

A Proposed date of adoption: 20 May 2021.

Proposed date of entry into force: 14 June 2021.
