This Draft Uganda Standard specifies permissible limits for common pollutants found in exhaust emissions of motor vehicles, namely carbon monoxide, particulate matter (PM), oxides of nitrogen (NOX), and hydrocarbons. The standard covers emission all types of vehicles namely, passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy-duty vehicles, motorcycles and motor tricycles as given in Annex A. This standard covers only vehicle with internal combustion Engines.
