This Draft East African standard covers the energy efficiency and functional performance requirements, sampling and test methods for luminaires described in Clause 4 which include the following: a) indoor ambient luminaires; and b) outdoor / streetlight luminaires. This standard does not apply to indoor ambient luminaires or outdoor/streetlight luminaires specifically tested and approved to operate: a) in potentially explosive atmospheres; b) for emergency use; and c) in or on aircraft. This standard does not cover safety requirements of lighting products
