This addendum concerns the notification of Ministerial Decree No. 522/2021 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES "Frozen Sepiidae / Loliginidae \ (Ommastrephidae) / Octopodidae" (11 pages, in Arabic).

This standard is concerned with the essential requirements and descriptive criteria for frozen Sepiidae / Loliginidae \ ( Ommastrephidae) / Octopodidae.

This standard cancels and supersedes its last edition 2006

It should be noted that Ministerial Decree No. 93/2013 (4 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/34 dated 30 April 2013 mandated among others the earlier version of this Egyptian standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with “Codex Standard for Quick Frozen Raw Squid” Codex standard No. cxs 191-1995 and FAO food and nutrition paper 14/8 Manuals of food quality control " 1986

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
