This addendum concerns the notification of Ministerial Decree No. 521/2021 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8488 "Luncheon Meat" (12 page(s), in Arabic)

It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/299 dated 1 September 2021.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with STANDARD FOR LUNCHEON MEAT Codex Stan No. CXS 89-1981 Adopted in 1981. Revised in 1991, 2014, 2015. Amended in 2019

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 24 August 2021

Proposed date of entry into force: 25 November 2021
