This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.58/2022 (2 pages, in Arabic) that:

1- Extends the period to abide by the Egyptian Standard No. 7823/2020, which was mandated by the first article of Ministerial Decree No. 171/2020, for a year or until the completion of the modification of the Egyptian Standard No. 7823/2020, whichever is nearer.

2- Regarding lamps, the Egyptian Standard No. 7823/2014 ” The energy efficiency of electric lamps” will continue to be in force .

It should be noted that:

- ES 7823/2020 is technically identical with modification of the commission regulation (EU) No. 874/2012 and the commission regulation (EU) No 1194/2012,

- ES 7823/2014 is harmonized with the amendment of the commission regulation (EU) No. 1194/2012, (EU) No. 874/2012.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 7 February 2022.

Proposed date of entry into force: 25 February 2022.
